    Though Thalassery has upgraded as "A" grade but the facilities at par with other stations are not maintained. Though second platofrm has been created recently, passenger amenities like Kannur and Calicut is far behind. I have also heard proposal for creating another railway line from this station to Mysore. Some of the trains ending at Kannur could be extended to Thalassery.Some of the long journey trains like Ahmedabad and Delhi are not having stoppages at this station. Passengers from these areas are deprived off dormitory facilities as like in Kannur railway station. Platform No. 2 pavements are filthy and old one. Expecting suitable actions from the concerned railway authorities to give good facelift of the station.
